IMG 8232 1Department of Sports Dietetics was established on the 1st of April 2021 at the Faculty of Health Sciences of Poznan University of Physical Education, as part of the Chair of Dietetics. Due to the comprehensive modernisation of the laboratories and offices of the Department, and then the renovation of the main hall in the southern part of the Main Building, the official and symbolic opening, with the participation of the rector's authorities, deans, scientists, employees of the University and representatives of the Poznań University of Life Sciences, with which the Department cooperates, took place on the 11th of January  this year.

1The research project entitled “Evaluation of the impact of exercise / stress stimuli on the mechanisms and efficacy of beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyric acid (HMB) in trained and malnourished subjects” (project number: 2018/31/D/NZ7/00803) granted by the National Science Centre (Poland), under the supervision of prof. Krzysztof Durkalec-Michalski, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof is now being conducted in a close cooperation between Department of Sports Dietetics (Poznan University of Physical Education) and Department of Physiology and Biochemistry (Faculty of Physical Education and Sport) at Charles University in Prague.

30.11 miedzynarodowe seminarium dietetyka sportowaThe consequences of ageing population and long-term health complications after SARS-CoV-2 infection are nowadays among the most alarming issues of public health. They are a vital challenge for a health protection sector. The effective and economically available solutions of dealing with these issues demand the holistic approaches, that include the individualized nutritional and physical activity strategies – that was the main message claimed by the speakers at the international conference entitled ‘Autumn Open Scientific Seminar of the Department of Sports Dietetics’. The Conference took place at the 25th of November, and was initiated by the Head of the Department of Sports Dietetics – prof. Krzysztof Durkalec-Michalski, PhD in collaboration with the International Relations Office at Poznan University of Physical Education. Due to epidemic state, this international event was organized as hybrid form; stationary and on-line attendance was available. Among the participant of the Conference there were students, teachers and researchers from Poland, Czech Republic and Spain.

29.10 Konferencja Korcz Chlebosz 4On October 9-13th of 2019 Agata Korcz, PhD and Karolina Chlebosz, MA attended the 2nd BRICS Conference of Exercise and Sports Science (BRICSCESS 2019) and the 1st World Congress of Future Leader/Volunteer (WCFLV 2019) of the Foundation for Global Community Health, in conjunction with the 2019 South African Sports Medicine Association (SASMA) organized by the North-West University (NWU) in Cape Town, South Africa.

30.10 Sylwia Bartkowiak AWBG 2The 1st World Beach Sports Games (ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019), organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), took place in Doha (Qatar) on 12-16.10.2019. The competition was attended by over 1,500 players from 70 countries, representing 15 sport disciplines. One of them was beach handball. Polish women national team with Sylwia Bartkowiak (PhD student and employee of the Sports Theory Department).

20190528164916Our scientists are authors of two articles about physical activities and aging process published in “Aging and Disease” journal (IF=4,23, 140 points). Article “Physical Activity and Alzheimer’s Disease: A Narrative Review” will be release in December issue and article “A Review of Exercise as Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease: Pathology and Mechanism” will be release in April issue. There are also available on-line now.

Statue will commemorate the centennial anniversary of foundation the Poznan University of Physical Education. Bronze cast bench will be placed at front of the main building on October 2019.

01.07 IntegracjeFolk groups from several foregin countries e.g. India and Colombia will participate in 19th World Folk Review INTEGRATION, which is organized by Folk Group “AWF” Poznań. The final concert will take place in Swarzędz. The nine-day folk group review will start on August 10 and end on August 18 this year.

06 2thumbRobert Korzeniowski, outstanding sportsman, former racewalker and fourfold Olympic champion (from Atlanta, Sydney and Athens) was a special guest at our University. In front of big audience – more than 400 students – he made a lecture about the most important issues connected with sports medicine. He highlighted the importance of cooperation between good physiotherapist and athlete and gave a bunch of advices for sport-beginners – for example how to plan the training sessions in proper way.
